Surveillance footage has been released showing a break-in at the late NASCAR driver Greg Biffle's Iredell County home, weeks after he and his family perished in a plane crash. The Iredell County Sheriff’s Office revealed the video Wednesday night, capturing an individual, masked and hooded, trespassing and rummaging through the residence at approximately 11 p.m. on January 7, as reported by TMZ. Authorities say the burglar was inside the home for an "extended amount of time."
The stolen items include $30,000 in cash, NASCAR memorabilia, a backpack, and two Glock handguns—a list updated by law enforcement. In an incident sadly coupling grief with violation, this felony occurs amidst the Biffle family's mourning period, following the tragic accident on December 18, which claimed the lives of Biffle, his wife, and their two children, as well as three others. The National Transportation Safety Board's investigation on the cause of the plane crash is ongoing, with a preliminary report expected, according to QC News.
As the inquiry into the break-in continues, the Iredell County Sheriff’s Office is seeking assistance from the public. Anyone with knowledge about a crime is urged to come forward. Despite the clear images of the suspect provided by the released surveillance video, no arrests have been made thus far. This information was shared in a recent article by WBTV, which also detailed the aftermath of the burglary.
Authorities are investigating a reported incident involving the property of Greg Biffle on Doolie Road in Mooresville. According to officials, the residence became the site of an alleged unauthorized entry following the deaths of members of the Biffle family. Law enforcement officials are continuing to review the circumstances of the incident, and community members have been encouraged to report any information that may assist with the investigation.
