
Andrew Sonco, owner of Sneakers Connect in Margate, reported that his store was burglarized early Thursday. Surveillance footage shows the suspects breaking the front door and stealing items valued at about $5,000, including limited edition sneakers, sports jerseys, and Japanese fashion, Local 10 reported.
Sonco told WSVN that he was alerted by his security system around 3:05 a.m. Police and K9 units responded to investigate the break-in. The front door alone was damaged, with an estimated repair cost of $3,000. Sneakers Connect reopened the day after the burglary.
The perpetrators remain at large. Margate Police are continuing the investigation and ask anyone with information to contact Broward County Crime Stoppers at 954-493-TIPS. A reward of up to $5,000 is available for tips leading to an arrest.
