Three men were hospitalized after being shot in the early hours yesterday morning in Brownsville, as per the details provided by the Miami-Dade Sheriff's Office (MDSO). The incident was first signaled to authorities by a ShotSpotter alert at around 4:30 a.m. near 2400 NW 55th St., NBC Miami reports.
While deputies were en route to the scene, it came to light that a man with an apparent gunshot wound had already been brought to Jackson Memorial Hospital, with his condition being described as stable. Following the initial incident, two more men, suffering from gunshot injuries, had independently transported themselves to Northshore Hospital, according to CBS Miami. These individuals were then taken to the Ryder Trauma Center at Jackson Memorial Hospital as well.
The victims were reportedly heading to a gathering when they were struck by shots fired from an unknown location. Currently, MDSO has not released any information regarding potential suspects nor have they identified anyone tied to the shooting.
The sheriff's office is continuing its investigation into the incident. The details surrounding the event remain sparse, and MDSO has urged individuals with any information to come forward. The early investigation suggests an unprovoked attack on the men en route to their destination, as stated in the CBS Miami coverage of the event. No further details on the victims' conditions beyond stability have been announced.
