Miami-Dade County will implement changes to its MetroConnect on-demand transit service beginning February 1. The updates include adjustments to service areas, operating days and hours, and fares, according to the Miami-Dade County release.

MetroConnect will operate on a weekday-only schedule, running Monday through Friday from 6:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. Weekend service will be discontinued. The Department of Transportation and Public Works also announced the introduction of a per-trip fare. Riders will be charged $3.75 per trip, with a reduced fare of $1.50 for trips that begin or end at designated transit hubs that connect to Metrorail, Metrobus, or the TransitWay.

Service will no longer be available in the Civic Center and Waterford Business District zones. Riders in those areas may use other public transportation options. MetroConnect service will continue within the remaining designated zones, offering curbside pickup and drop-off.

Additional details on service zone changes and alternative transit options are available on the MetroConnect website. Riders may also sign up for transit alerts through Miami-Dade County and follow the department’s official social media channels for updates.
