The City of West Palm Beach is accepting submissions for its annual Grassy Waters Preserve Photography Contes. Entries will be accepted through February 28. Submitted photographs must depict Grassy Waters Preserve, a 23-square-mile wetland located at the northern edge of the Everglades. There is no restriction on when the photos were takent, according to a City of West Palm Beach announcement.

Access to the preserve’s five trails and Nature Center is free. Guided kayak and canoe tours are available for a fee. The contest is sponsored by the Grassy Waters Conservancy, with a $10 submission fee per entry. Proceeds support preserve programs and educational initiatives.

A youth category is available for photographers under 18, who may submit up to three photos at no cost. Additional contest details are available through the City of West Palm Beach’s website.

All submitted photos may be used royalty-free by Grassy Waters Preserve, the City of West Palm Beach, and the Grassy Waters Conservancy for promotional purposes. Winning entries will be selected by a professional photographer and displayed at the Grassy Waters Nature Center beginning March 27, following an opening reception. Winners may claim their matted prints after the exhibition.

The contest also includes a People’s Choice award, determined through public voting. Votes may be cast for $1 each, with proceeds benefiting the Conservancy. Voting closes March 6. Nature Center staff will also select one photo for use on a complimentary postcard distributed to visitors.
