
Tragedy struck Montiel Road in San Marcos yesterday when a fatal traffic collision claimed the life of a young motorcyclist. At around 5:26 PM, deputies from the San Marcos Sheriff’s Station were called to the 2300 block of Montiel Road after reports of a crash involving a white Nissan Altima sedan and a Kawasaki ZX-10R motorcycle, the San Diego County Sheriff's Office reported.
The motorcyclist, a 23-year-old male, was discovered unresponsive in the westbound lane by the responding deputies. Despite efforts by both deputies and paramedics to provide life-saving measures at the scene, the individual was pronounced dead at 5:52 PM. The driver of the Nissan Altima sedan remained on site, cooperating fully with law enforcement as they initiated their investigation into the dreadful incident. At this time, it remains unclear whether alcohol or drugs were a factor in causing this collision.
The investigation into the specifics of the crash is ongoing, and officers at the San Marcos Sheriff’s Station are leading the probing efforts.
