
The 15-year-old killed in a Seventh Ward shooting last week has been identified as Walter Dalton, as New Orleans authorities continue to search for answers in the deadly ambush at a neighborhood intersection, as reported by WWL-TV.
Coroner Identifies Victim
According to WWL-TV, the Orleans Parish coroner confirmed Dalton as the victim and ruled his death a homicide. The office has not released further details about the circumstances of the killing, leaving detectives to fill in the gaps as the investigation moves forward.
Police: Investigation Ongoing
Police say officers were called to the intersection of North Miro and New Orleans streets around 5:43 p.m. last Wednesday, where they found two people suffering from gunshot wounds. Both were taken to a local hospital, according to WDSU. So far, authorities have not shared any information about possible suspects or a motive, FOX 8 reported. Detectives with the NOPD Homicide Unit are leading the case, and no arrests have been announced.
