Three people were wounded in two separate stabbings over the weekend in Aurora, a bloody one-two punch on back-to-back nights that sent all three victims to local hospitals. Police say officers moved quickly in each case and arrested two men as the investigations continue.
The first attack unfolded around 5:30 p.m. Saturday inside a home in the 500 block of Glenview Avenue, where officers arrived to find a man suffering from stab wounds. According to the Chicago Tribune, investigators believe the violence erupted during a sudden dispute between acquaintances. The victim was rushed to a nearby hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries. At the scene, officers arrested 25-year-old Jose Antonio Perez-Leon, who is charged with aggravated battery causing bodily harm and aggravated battery with a deadly weapon.
Less than 24 hours later, around 8 p.m. Sunday, officers were called to the 800 block of Hammond Avenue, where they found two adults with stab-related injuries. Both were taken to area hospitals. According to Patch, police say that incident appears to be domestic-related and tied to a behavioral-health crisis inside the home. Authorities arrested 23-year-old Dayton Paul Craig, who is charged with attempted first-degree murder, domestic battery and multiple counts of aggravated domestic battery.
Charges and court dates
Prosecutors have filed felony charges in both cases while detectives continue to gather evidence. Kane County court records show Perez-Leon was released pretrial and is scheduled to return to court on March 20, 2026, according to the Chicago Tribune. Craig remained in custody at the Kane County jail as of Tuesday morning.

The weekend violence lands in a city already rattled by recent high-profile incidents.
