Three men in Avoyelles Parish, Louisiana, were cited for multiple deer hunting violations during a routine enforcement operation at Spring Bayou. The Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries reported that the offenses included hunting deer during illegal hours, using prohibited hunting methods, and hunting on private land without permission.
The violators, Joseph Ducote of Mansura, Chancellor Williams II of Bunkie, and Dillon Bordelon of Moreauville, were cited after officers investigated nighttime hunting from a boat on the Little River in Marksville. Ducote was also cited for exceeding the seasonal deer limit by taking six antlered deer.
The violations carry fines ranging from $900 to $950 and up to 120 days in jail. Additional infractions included criminal trespassing, failure to tag kills, and possession of illegally harvested deer. Authorities confiscated a .17 caliber rifle with a scope used in the illegal activity.
Civil restitution for the illegally taken deer totals $7,200 for Ducote, $3,200 for Williams, and $800 for Bordelon. The enforcement team included Sgt. James Bruce, Sgt. DJ Anderson, Corporal Ryan Durand, Corporal Kenneth Robertson, Senior Agent Lane Causey, and Corporal Micheal Thacker.
