Kilwins is heading to Burr Ridge this spring, bringing a new confectionery and ice cream shop to the Village Center and giving locals a dedicated spot to satisfy a sweet tooth. The franchised store is taking over the unit at 745 Village Center Drive and is targeting a late April debut, which would plug a dessert-focused option into a center better known for restaurants and service businesses.

Menu, Timeline And What To Expect

According to What Now Chicago, franchisee Nikit Tailor said the Burr Ridge shop will scoop Kilwins signature ice cream flavors, including chocolate peanut butter, cookies and cream and sea salt caramel. The store will also stock fudge, caramel apples, caramel corn, shakes, and sodas. Tailor told What Now Chicago that construction is ahead of schedule, and the team is eyeing an opening around April 28, 2026. The outlet also reported that the Burr Ridge spot will be the Village Center's first tenant devoted primarily to dessert.

Who Is Opening It And Where It Sits

The shop is being developed by franchise partners Nikit Tailor and Mayank Jethva, a duo Kilwins recently spotlighted on its franchise page on LinkedIn. A commercial listing for the Village Center already lists Kilwins among the tenants. The storefront will sit near neighborhood hangouts such as Bar Poca Madre and the soon-to-open Bridewell Tavern. Located in the downtown Village Center just off County Line Road, the new Kilwins will be an easy stop for families and commuters running along I-55.

Part Of A Wider Midwest Push

Kilwins has been on a growth kick across the country, wrapping up 2025 with a batch of new locations and signing multiple franchise agreements for 2026, the company said in a press release. As noted in a Kilwins announcement carried by PR Newswire, the brand opened 19 stores in 2025 and entered the new year with more franchise deals in the works. The Burr Ridge location will join several existing Kilwins shops in the greater Chicagoland area, according to the company's Kilwins store finder.

Tailor said the owners plan to plug into local events and hope Kilwins becomes a go-to stop for family desserts and small celebrations. Construction updates and the official opening date are expected to appear on Kilwins website as the late April target gets closer.
