A months-long hunt for a Minnesota Avenue robbery suspect ended on Feb. 20, 2026, when officers arrested a 32-year-old Northeast D.C. man in connection with a broad-daylight stickup, police said. The assault and theft happened around 1:30 p.m. on Sept. 27, 2025, in the 3700 block of Minnesota Avenue NE, where a victim was allegedly attacked and robbed before the assailant took off. Members of the Capitol Area Regional Fugitive Task Force executed a D.C. Superior Court arrest warrant for the suspect, identified as Tayvon Parker, who is charged with robbery with force and violence.
According to the Metropolitan Police Department, the Sept. 27 incident unfolded in broad daylight when the suspect allegedly assaulted a victim, took property and fled the scene. The department listed the case number as 25147854 and said the investigation remains active.
Minnesota Avenue Has Seen This Before
Hoodline reported in September that Parker had been linked to an earlier daytime robbery on Minnesota Avenue, when officers said suspects forced a victim to withdraw cash from an ATM in the 3800 block. That piece on an earlier daylight robbery on Minnesota Avenue said Parker was arrested Sept. 4 after patrol officers located someone matching the suspect description. Taken together, the two reports indicate investigators have been looking at multiple robberies along the same stretch of Minnesota Avenue.
How Officers Carried Out The Arrest
As reported by Shore News Network, members of the Capitol Area Regional Fugitive Task Force executed the D.C. Superior Court warrant on Feb. 20. Authorities have not released details about where Parker was taken into custody or whether any weapon was recovered, and have said little beyond the charge and the ongoing investigation.
What Happens Next In Court
Per the Metropolitan Police Department, Parker is charged with Robbery (Force and Violence) and the case remains under investigation. D.C. Superior Court will handle the next steps as prosecutors review the evidence and set formal filings and hearing dates.
