Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department detectives responded around 7 p.m. to the intersection of Lawyers Road and Split Oak Drive, where Mecklenburg EMS (MEDIC) pronounced one person dead at the scene. Authorities have not released the victim’s identity or said what led to the wreck.
