According to a Facebook post by the City of Fall River Police Department, officers responded to the Sunset Hill Housing Development on Feb. 3, where they observed what appeared to be fresh blood on the floor and a yellow Labrador suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. The dog was transported to an emergency animal hospital and later succumbed to its injuries.
The post states that detectives then executed a search warrant at Father DeFario Village and recovered firearm accessories. Investigators have identified Simmons as the suspected shooter and obtained an arrest warrant.
