Thursday evening in the Frayser neighborhood of North Memphis ended at a crime scene after a man was shot and rushed to the hospital in critical condition. Officers found the wounded man in the 2800 block of Vayu Drive, and emergency crews moved quickly to get him to a nearby trauma center while investigators locked down the area.
Police say the call about the shooting came in around 6:45 p.m. Responding officers located the victim when they arrived, and he was taken to the hospital in critical condition. As of the latest update, Memphis police had not released any suspect information, and no arrests had been made, according to WREG.

Frayser's recent violence
Thursday's gunfire is the latest in a string of shootings to hit Frayser in recent weeks. Earlier this week, two wounded on Dabbs Avenue in another early-morning shooting.
