Adie Moreira‑Martinez, who was found with life‑threatening injuries in early February, died from those injuries yesterday, after spending weeks in the hospital. Officers first responded on February 4 to an assault report along Harrisburg Road near Pence Road, where they found her and rushed her to a local hospital for treatment.
According to WCNC, the Charlotte‑Mecklenburg Police Department said officers discovered Moreira‑Martinez with life‑threatening wounds on February 4. A suspect was taken into custody yesterday, and detectives are now treating the case as an active homicide investigation while they continue to collect evidence.
