A deadly hit-and-run shut down a busy stretch of Highway 20 in Yuba City this morning, leaving a pedestrian dead and a driver under arrest after allegedly fleeing the scene, according to police.

Yuba City police said the crash happened at Highway 20 and Stafford Way and involved a pedestrian who died from injuries suffered in the collision. Officers said the driver took off but was later located and contacted by police, then arrested on suspicion of hit-and-run. The driver is expected to be booked into jail.
