
A family dispute turned deadly Thursday evening on the edge of Forest View, where a 30-year-old Justice man is accused of fatally shooting his father outside an industrial warehouse, authorities said. The son was taken into custody and charged with first-degree murder, and a pre-trial detention hearing is now on the calendar. The victim has been identified as 58-year-old Amin Alwan of Burbank.
What Police Say
Forest View officers were called around 5:37 p.m. to reports of gunfire near Synergy Logistics at 5240 W. 47th St. When they arrived, officers found Amin Alwan unresponsive and bleeding from the face on the warehouse-lined stretch near the Forest View and Chicago border.
Officers immediately started CPR, but Alwan was pronounced dead at the scene. After an investigation involving Forest View police and the WESTAF Major Crimes Task Force, authorities identified 30-year-old Hassan Alwan of Justice as a suspect. He was taken into custody and later charged with first-degree murder, according to NBC Chicago.
