The One Tamarac Multicultural Festival is back this Saturday, February 7, at the Tamarac Sports Complex located at 9901 NW 77th St. The city has announced that this free event, open to the public, is set to start at 4 p.m., featuring none other than global sensation Kevin Lyttle as the headliner. The "Turn Me On" hitmaker will bring his mix of soca and dancehall tunes, which continue to resonate with fans around the world, according to the City of Tamarac's announcement.
Host and local entrepreneur Ludil will be there to give a lively welcome, followed by performances that promise to dazzle, including a Samba Carnival and a flamenco dance showcase on stage. Meanwhile, a family-friendly attractions zone featuring rides and bounce houses will be ready to entertain the younger attendees, the city's statement reported.
Recognizing the importance of inclusivity, this year's festival has included a Sensory-Friendly Area. It's a significant move, offering a quieter space away from the bustle for children with sensory sensitivities or developmental differences, or for those who simply need a break from the festival's stimuli. In a statement obtained by the official press release, the city expressed pride in enhancing the festival experience to be "inclusive and accessible for all families."
As the day turns into night, visitors can explore a Cultural Shop Village, sampling food truck offerings and browsing artisan creations.
