
A man was shot and killed late Tuesday in the Bronzeville neighborhood on Chicago's South Side, after gunfire broke out along East 37th Street.
Chicago police said officers responded around 10:15 p.m. to the 700 block of East 37th Street, where they found a male victim lying in the street with multiple gunshot wounds. He was taken to the University of Chicago Medical Center and was later pronounced dead. Area One detectives opened an investigation at the scene.

According to Chicago police, the shooting was reported at about 10:15 p.m. in the 700 block of East 37th Street. Responding officers found the man with several gunshot wounds and rushed him to the University of Chicago Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead, police said, as reported by ABC7 Chicago. Area One detectives were on scene collecting evidence and working to piece together what led up to the gunfire.
Bronzeville in Recent Weeks
The killing adds to a run of recent violence on the South Side. Earlier this month, the Chicago Sun-Times reported a separate fatal shooting in Bronzeville on the 3700 block of South Lake Park Avenue, a case that also remains under investigation.
Investigation and Tips
Police have not released the victim's name or any information about a possible suspect as the investigation continues.
