
One person was taken to the hospital after shots rang out near the Glen at Burnsville apartments late Monday, prompting police to lock down the immediate neighborhood with a brief shelter-in-place alert that lasted about two hours.
Police response and public alert
According to KSTP, Burnsville police were called around 10:30 p.m. to reports of gunfire near the Glen at Burnsville Apartments along Harriet Avenue South, just south of West Burnsville Parkway. Medics brought one person to a hospital while officers moved through the area and secured the scene.
City officials stressed that the shelter-in-place alert was limited to the immediate neighborhood and did not extend across Burnsville. The warning stayed in effect for roughly two hours before being lifted as investigators continued to search and process the scene.

The Glen at Burnsville complex sits off Harriet Avenue South near West Burnsville Parkway, in a residential pocket of the south metro. Police and city crews remained on site late into the night while investigators carried out an initial review of what unfolded.
