The Lawrence Police Department has charged three individuals after a thorough investigation into the sale of counterfeit goods at a local flea market. According to a social media post by the department, the crackdown occurred at a vendor stationed at 85 Manchester Street in Lawrence, Massachusetts.
Detectives seized a 'significant' amount of counterfeit merchandise during the raid, with an estimated average retail price of the genuine goods totaling $457,910. Among the items confiscated were 1,807 Nike products, 821 Adidas items, and 176 UGG products, each with an attached value based on their genuine counterparts as $307,190 for Nike, $131,360 for Adidas, and $19,360 for UGG.
After the case reached its final disposition in court, the fate of the counterfeit items was finalized—they were collected and sent to the incinerator for complete destruction, ensuring that none of the fraudulent products could reenter the marketplace.
