Memphis is getting a taste of April in February this week, with warm, windy weather muscling in after a foggy start to Tuesday, February 17, 2026. Early risers woke up to cloudy skies, patchy fog, and temperatures around 52°F. The fog should thin by mid-morning, with highs expected near 67°F and south-southwest winds at 10 to 15 mph, gusting up to 25 mph this afternoon.
Morning Fog, Then Springlike Afternoons
Patchy fog is likely before 9 a.m. Tuesday, then skies should turn partly sunny with a high near 67°F. A broad ridge will keep temperatures on the mild side through Wednesday, February 18, and Thursday, February 19, with mid to upper 70s possible on Thursday in parts of the Midsouth, flirting with record highs in some spots.
Winds are expected to strengthen late Tuesday into Wednesday, with a gusty stretch likely Wednesday into Thursday. Gusts could reach around 35 mph, and a Wind Advisory may be needed for some counties, according to the National Weather Service Memphis.
Cold Front Knocks Temps Back For The Weekend
A cold front is forecast to arrive late Thursday night into Friday, February 20, bringing a chance of showers and thunderstorms into Friday and Saturday, February 21. Highs are expected to fall to the low 60s on Friday, then into the 50s for Saturday and Sunday, February 22. Saturday night could dip near freezing with a low around 33°F.
Outdoor plans for Thursday evening and Friday should stay flexible; heavier rain and any lingering showers are most likely across northeast Mississippi and parts of west Tennessee.
