A 56-year-old man was found dead in an alley behind Grumpy's Bail Bonds on the 100 block of Union Street just after 7:30 a.m. Friday, according to Metro Nashville police. Downtown officers quickly secured the area while detectives began an on-site investigation. Early checks at the scene revealed no obvious signs of foul play, police said.
As reported by WKRN, surveillance footage shows the man walking alone near the business shortly before 1 a.m. Officers later located him in the alley behind the bail-bond office. Detectives are now reviewing nearby video and canvassing the area for witnesses as they work to confirm his identity and piece together what happened in the hours before his death.

Investigators' Initial Findings
Police told WKRN that the man was wearing a hospital band dated Feb. 17 and that officers did not find any drug paraphernalia in the immediate area. Detectives say the investigation remains active as they process evidence and work to establish the man's identity.
