Oklahoma City Representative Mickey Dollens has advanced House Bill 1064 through the Banking, Financial Services, and Pensions Committee. The legislation seeks to limit large institutional investors from purchasing single-family homes in Oklahoma.
According to the Oklahoma House of Representatives, the bill is intended to protect homeownership for individuals and prevent corporate entities from dominating the residential housing market.
HB 1064 now moves to the Government Oversight Committee for further review. If approved, it would restrict corporate ownership of single-family homes and support access to housing for local residents.
