Kaluz Restaurant’s new Pembroke Pines outpost did more than break in the kitchen on opening night. The VIP launch raised $7,500 for the South Broward Foundation, the company and local nonprofit said, with the money set to fund scholarships, leadership programming and school projects across Pembroke Pines and neighboring Miramar. Kaluz opened at 10780 Pines Blvd on November 18, 2025, and has since staffed nearly 100 people at the location.

According to a press release via PRWeb, the donation came from a portion of sales during the restaurant’s VIP opening night and was presented by General Manager Ryan Perez to South Broward Foundation leaders Patricia Archer, Mike Ross and Ken Rivera. The release quotes owner David Baldwin saying the Pembroke Pines opening was designed in part to support the community that welcomed the restaurant.

New Restaurant, Big Room and Local Jobs

The Pembroke Pines location at 10780 Pines Blvd officially opened on November 18, 2025, and seats about 290 guests, according to a company announcement on GlobeNewswire. The site includes a 50-seat outdoor lounge and joins Kaluz outposts in Fort Lauderdale, Wellington and Plantation under the Arka Restaurant Group banner. The opening began as a walk-in only period before regular reservations kicked in.

Where the Check Will Go

The South Broward Foundation, the 501(c)(3) fundraising arm of the Miramar–Pembroke Pines Regional Chamber of Commerce, says donations support scholarships, leadership training and school improvements in the area, per the organization's website at South Broward Foundation. Patricia Archer, the foundation's executive director and CEO, thanked Kaluz and said, “Support from local businesses like Kaluz allows us to continue investing in students,” a line included in the restaurant's release via PRWeb. Kaluz's materials also note the Pembroke Pines location has created nearly 100 local jobs since opening.

Small-Dollar Giving, Local Impact

Smaller gifts tied to grand openings are a familiar way for restaurants to make a local splash while backing civic groups that support students and schools, and Kaluz is following that playbook here. Kaluz, owned and operated by Arka Restaurant Group, lists Pembroke Pines contact details and hours on its site. For more about the restaurant see Kaluz.
