A late-night private party at a Midtown rental space ended in gunfire early yesterday, leaving a man shot and Oklahoma City police with more questions than answers.
Officers were called around 1:26 a.m. to a venue near Northwest 10th Street and Hudson Avenue that had previously operated as Sunset Patio Bar, police said. Someone at the gathering drove the wounded man to a nearby hospital before officers arrived. Investigators told reporters the victim has been uncooperative, and authorities have released no suspect information. The scene remained under investigation.
According to KFOR, officers responding to reports of gunfire found the injured man inside a space rented out for a private event. The outlet reported that detectives were still working to determine what led up to the shooting and were canvassing the area for witnesses and any available video. The incident occurred near the 400 block of NW 10th Street at Hudson Avenue.
Where it happened
The location is listed in business directories as 401 NW 10th St and has previously operated under the Sunset Patio Bar name, according to TravelOK. Local coverage has followed a series of violent incidents tied to Midtown nightlife, and KOCO reported the venue closed its earlier concept in 2023 amid concerns about weekend violence.
A pattern in Midtown
NW 10th and Hudson has been the backdrop for multiple shootings in recent years, and city bulletins along with local outlets have repeatedly flagged the corridor for overnight violence. A City of Oklahoma City bulletin documented a multi-victim shooting near the same intersection in May 2025, highlighting the area’s ongoing public-safety concerns. City of Oklahoma City records note that investigators often depend on witnesses and video to piece together what happens during late-night incidents.
What officials say
Police told KFOR they still have no suspect information and that detectives are continuing to investigate. Officials are asking anyone with information or footage to contact investigators as they work to build a timeline and determine a motive for the shooting.
