According to a report by MeckNC News, Matt Neal, the company's President of North America, said, "The equipment we produce in North Carolina is helping meet our nation’s unprecedented growth in energy." He added, "We are building on a strong, decades-long foundation in the state, supported by a dedicated workforce that consistently rises to meet new challenges and a pipeline of young and eager talent ready to build the machines that will power the United States into the next century."
In a nod to the skilled local workforce and the county's allure for industry, Mark Jerrell, Chair of Mecklenburg Board of County Commissioners, highlighted Siemens Energy's influence in bolstering the local economy. Siemens Energy's decision to expand operations in Mecklenburg signals a vote of confidence in the community which will be further enriched by additional employment opportunities.
Siemens Energy is not only expanding its footprint in Charlotte by increasing its generator capacity, but it is also reviving gas turbine production after a six-year hiatus.
