Smyrna police are asking locals to help put names to faces after releasing surveillance photos of two women wanted for identification in connection with thefts at the Kohl’s in Smyrna.
The department said the images, released Thursday, were pulled from store security cameras and show two women officers who want to speak with them about the incident. Anyone who recognizes them is urged to get in touch with investigators.
Photos and the Original Post
In a post published Thursday, the Smyrna Police Department shared the still images and asked the public to come forward with tips. Local reporting identifies the affected store as the Kohl’s on Industrial Boulevard, and community outlets have republished the department’s release. Coverage and the original post are available from Rutherford Source.
How to Pass Tips
Anyone who recognizes the woman is asked to contact Detective Steve Martin at (615) 267-5432 or at [email protected], according to the department. For those who prefer a general contact point, the non-emergency number listed on town websites can be used for non-urgent tips. According to WGNS, Detective Martin is the lead investigator on related Smyrna retail-theft cases.
Retail Theft Appeals Are Routine
Smyrna police regularly turn to surveillance images and public tips to move shoplifting investigations forward, a pattern that shows up frequently in local coverage. Community-sourced leads have helped detectives in earlier cases and remain a primary tactic for the department when usable video is available. WSMV reported on a similar appeal earlier this year.
