A vehicle struck the Southern States building in the 5000 block of Canton Pike in Hopkinsville on Wednesday, injuring an employee inside and causing minor damage to the structure. The driver of the vehicle was not hurt in the collision, and the injured worker did not require hospital transport after being evaluated on scene, according to WBKO.
Hopkinsville Fire/EMS responded to the vehicle-versus-building collision. Crews evaluated the injured employee at the scene, and the Hopkinsville Police Department is now investigating the crash.

The building that was struck belongs to Southern States Hopkinsville Petroleum Cooperative, a business that has served Hopkinsville since 1948 and has operated from its current Canton Pike site since October 2005, according to WHOP Radio. The cooperative celebrated its 20th anniversary at the Canton Pike location last October.
