St. Bernard Parish is advancing several development projects to improve infrastructure and community facilities. According to the St. Bernard Parish official Facebook page, road crews are clearing drainage lines to reduce street flooding, and drainage teams have removed 4,000 feet of overgrowth along the Bluebird Canal and Pirate Drive Ditch. Parish leaders also recently visited Washington D.C. to advocate for local initiatives.
Improvements are underway at Val Riess Park, including new slabs for a tot lot and shelter, turf installation, and tree planting. The parish is also hosting events commemorating the Battle of New Orleans.
Additional projects include ongoing drainage work in the Old Arabi neighborhood, construction of the Farmsite Road lift station for wastewater management, and the near-completion of Fire Station 11 to enhance emergency services.
