A quiet Sunday afternoon in central El Paso was interrupted when police responded to a report of a shooting in the 2500 block of Morehead Avenue, according to city dispatchers.
Multiple patrol units were sent to the area, and officers were seen securing part of the street while investigators worked the scene. Authorities released very limited information as the investigation remained active and the area stayed taped off.
According to KFOX14, the call came in at approximately 3:56 p.m. Officials did not immediately say whether anyone was injured or whether any arrests had been made. The station reported that its account would be updated as more information is released.

Central El Paso residents are no strangers to police activity along Morehead Avenue. In a previous incident, KVIA reported a June 18, 2025, shooting in the 3000 block of Morehead that left one person dead.
