Waukesha Police Department has taken to social media to mark American Heart Month, an annual observance every February dedicated to promoting heart health awareness. In their post, they highlight an essential element of their commitment to public safety: equipping their police cars with Automated External Defibrillators (AEDs).
"February is American Heart Month," the department's Facebook page proudly announces. "We’re proud to share that our police squads are equipped with AEDs."
With the understanding that mere seconds can be the difference between life and death during a cardiac emergency, Waukesha Police are positioned as immediate responders with this lifesaving technology at their disposal. The addition of AEDs helps outfit the officers with the capacity "to provide immediate care while help is on the way," according to the department.
