The Webster Groves Parks & Recreation Department is advancing plans to develop a new performance park. According to a social media update from the City of Webster Groves, the project is part of Proposition W, and the city will begin creating detailed designs and cost estimates.
The proposed performance park will be located adjacent to the Ice Arena along Ambrose Way, overlooking the soccer field, and will include a concrete plaza and a covered pavilion at Memorial Park, according to a staff presentation to the City Council on February 3. Memorial Park was the preferred site among residents, with over 600 community survey responses citing its ample parking and suitability for large crowds, farmers’ markets, food truck events, and potential seasonal community programming.
The plan also includes practical additions such as new restrooms to support soccer field events and a concession stand for added utility. The pavilion will be available for rental, providing both a facility currently lacking in the park and a potential revenue source for the city, while nearby Blackburn Park already offers three pavilions.
