
A deadly crash shut down part of Lucas and Hunt Road in Wellston on Wednesday afternoon after a tractor-trailer struck and killed a pedestrian just a few blocks from Normandy High School. Emergency crews pronounced the person dead at the scene, and the roadway closure briefly snarled traffic in the area, including near the school.
According to KSDK, the collision happened around 4 p.m. Officers found the victim in the roadway, and both the tractor-trailer and its driver remained on site while first responders and investigators worked the scene. KSDK also reports that the Missouri State Highway Patrol has been called in to handle the investigation.
Close to Normandy High School
The crash unfolded just a short distance from Normandy High School, which is listed at 6701 St. Charles Rock Road, according to the Normandy Schools Collaborative. As of Wednesday evening, school officials had not released any information about disruptions on campus.
