Bob's Pizza quietly shuttered its Hyde Park spot in Harper Court last Friday, ending a roughly three-year run in the neighborhood and leaving what was once a busy storefront suddenly dark. The move trims the chain's South Side footprint and follows an earlier pullback from Evanston.
Owner Matthew Wilde confirmed the Hyde Park shutdown, according to Block Club Chicago. The outlet's reporting included photos of the Harper Court storefront taken on March 20.
The restaurant's own locations page still lists an entry for Hyde Park at 1518 E. Harper Court and describes the spot's hours and full-service bar, but the listing flags carryout and dine-in only and shows no active online-ordering link, per the Bob's Pizza website. The site also notes the Harper Court outpost opened in February 2023.
From Pilsen to Harper Court
Bob's began as a Pilsen shop in 2019 and expanded quickly into Old Town and Evanston before taking the Harper Court space, a trajectory chronicled when the Hyde Park site debuted. Eater Chicago noted the Harper Court location was the chain's fourth permanent outpost and highlighted neighborhood-specific menu items and murals.
After Evanston Closure
