Sunday in Cincinnati starts on the chilly side, with mostly clear skies and temperatures near 41°F at Lunken Field, but the warmup will be fast. Highs are forecast to reach near 74°F this afternoon, and strengthening south winds will make it feel even milder. Gusts are expected in the 30–45 mph range, which will add some punch to the warmth while creating a hazard for any unsecured outdoor items. That springlike feel does not last long, though, with rain and embedded thunderstorms expected late Sunday night, followed by a sharp cooldown Monday that could bring light snow showers and lows in the upper teens Monday night.
Afternoon Winds Pick Up
Southerly winds will ramp up through the day Sunday, becoming generally 15–25 mph with stronger gusts up to about 45 mph. A Wind Advisory is in effect from 11 a.m. Sunday, March 15, 2026 through 8 a.m. Monday, March 16, 2026, so it is a good idea to secure patio furniture and other loose items and use extra caution when driving, especially in open areas, according to the National Weather Service. If you operate a trailer or other high-profile vehicle, allow extra time on exposed bridges and ramps where gusts can be more noticeable.
Tonight: Rain And Embedded Thunder
Rain is likely late Sunday night, with the steadiest precipitation expected between about 11 p.m. Sunday, March 15, and 1 a.m. Monday, March 16. Rain and a chance of thunderstorms could then continue into the early morning hours, roughly 1–5 a.m. New rainfall amounts of about a quarter to a half inch are possible, enough to make roads slick during the overnight commute. Some stronger embedded storms could produce damaging gusts, so avoid driving through standing water and stay alert to changing conditions through the night.
Monday Chill And Snow Chances
A much colder airmass moves in Monday, knocking highs back to near 38°F with west winds gusting into the 30s. By Monday night, lows are forecast to fall into the upper teens. Scattered snow showers are possible Monday into Monday night, with light accumulation expected mainly on grassy and elevated surfaces rather than on most roadways. Forecasters expect gusty conditions to linger into Monday, so check the National Weather Service for the latest updates before you travel.
What To Do Tonight
Bring in or securely strap down loose outdoor items this afternoon, charge phones so you can receive alerts, and plan for a wet, windy evening if you need to be on the roads. If you have outdoor events scheduled tonight, move them indoors or be ready for sudden gusts and brief periods of heavy rain.
