The break-in shook the typically calm 700-block of Rosewood Avenue and triggered an intensive police canvas of the neighborhood.
The incident unfolded at about 5:27 p.m., when one suspect reportedly posed as a food delivery driver to get the door opened. Police say six people then forced their way inside and demanded items from the resident, who managed to flee and call authorities, according to ABC7 Chicago. Investigators believe the group took off in a black Acura RDX that may not have had license plates, and the victim was not physically hurt.
