Two ordinary convenience-store runs in Miami-Dade just turned into six-figure paydays. Saturday’s FANTASY 5 drawings delivered one prize of roughly $134,998 and another of $100,000, with the lucky tickets sold at neighborhood shops in Kendall and Hialeah, according to local reports.
Tickets and payouts
According to the Miami Herald, a Kwik Stop Food Store in Kendall sold the evening FANTASY 5 ticket that matched 7, 9, 24, 30 and 34, good for about $134,998. The Herald also reported that Hialeah’s Stop 'N' Go sold a midday Quick Pick ticket that matched 2, 6, 9, 15 and 35 and won $100,000. Both tickets still have to be validated and processed through the Florida Lottery’s claims system before the winners see a dime.
Why the prizes were that size
Per the Florida Lottery, the agency is running a "More Money March" promotion that guarantees a minimum $100,000 top prize for every FANTASY 5 draw through March. That built-in guarantee explains the $100,000 midday payout, while the larger $134,998 evening prize reflects the usual jackpot formula and potential rollovers that can push the top amount higher.
The Lottery’s guidance, available through the Florida Lottery, notes that draw-game prizes must be claimed within 180 days and outlines how district offices handle claims, including what paperwork winners should be ready to provide.
What winners should do next
Anyone who thinks they are holding one of these tickets should sign the back immediately, then validate it at the nearest lottery retailer before starting the formal claim process. The Lottery advises following its step-by-step claim checklist before heading to a district office to finish the paperwork.
Retailers often see a little extra buzz after selling a big ticket. As Publix luck strikes twice pointed out in earlier coverage of other wins, grocery stores and corner shops routinely show up on the state’s recent-winner lists. Many jackpot winners also sit down with tax or financial advisers before deciding how to handle six-figure windfalls.
Need-to-know
If there is even a chance your ticket matches one of these winning combinations, get it checked at a Florida Lottery retailer right away and then follow the agency’s claiming steps. The Florida Lottery’s online Winner's Guide and district-office listings explain office hours and documentation requirements, and winners of draw games have 180 days from the draw date to claim their prize.
