Three people, two adults and a juvenile, have been arrested in connection with a knife-point robbery at the Massachusetts Avenue Transit Center in Lemon Grove, officials announced today. Investigators say the Oct. 12, 2025 incident involved suspects who displayed knives and demanded the victim’s backpack, iPhone and wallet. As part of the follow-up, deputies served a search warrant at a La Mesa residence and recovered a handgun with a loaded magazine that was reportedly stored where children could access it. Authorities say the investigation remains active.
According to FOX 5 San Diego, sheriff’s detectives teamed up with Metropolitan Transit System staff to comb through surveillance video from the transit center, footage that helped them identify the suspects. That review, officials said, ultimately led detectives to the home where they obtained and served the search warrant.
Per the San Diego County Sheriff's Office, Rancho San Diego detectives searched a house in the 5500 block of Morro Way in La Mesa and recovered the firearm. The weapon had a loaded magazine and was stored in a place accessible to children, and detectives are continuing to process evidence as the probe moves forward.

Demetrius Lipscomb was arrested on suspicion of robbery and contributing to the delinquency of a minor, while a juvenile suspect was booked into juvenile hall on a robbery charge. Authorities say formal filings and any upcoming court dates have not yet been released.
