Miami woke up to a textbook spring morning on Tuesday, with clear skies and a mild 64°F reading at Miami International Airport setting the tone. Sunshine will do the heavy lifting through the day, pushing coastal highs to around 80°F while interior neighborhoods warm well into the mid to upper 80s. Most of the week looks quiet and mostly dry, with the next real shot at showers holding off until late this weekend.
Fog Starts The Day, Sun Owns The Afternoon
Before sunrise, some inland spots and parts of Southwest Florida could see areas of patchy fog, including a few locally dense pockets near roads and canals. The mist should burn off not long after daybreak, giving way to clear skies and plenty of sun. By the mid-morning commute, most of Miami should be running under bright, easy-driving conditions.
Afternoon Heat And Elevated Fire Danger
By afternoon, temperatures along the coast will top out near 80°F, with inland areas jumping into the mid to upper 80s. Interior humidity values may drop into the low 30s, a drier setup that raises the risk for fire-weather issues, especially across parts of Southwest Florida. Fire officials want people to skip outdoor burning and take it easy with grills and yard work. The local forecast office flags the boosted fire danger, according to NWS Miami.
Beach Breaks And Boating Plans
Out on the water, seas stay tame today with waves generally under 2 feet. Later tonight into Wednesday, however, a developing northeasterly swell is expected to build seas and kick up more hazardous surf along the Atlantic coast. The Palm Beaches face a moderate rip current risk today that could ramp up to a high risk on Wednesday, so swimmers should stick to lifeguarded stretches and pay attention to those beach flags. Weekend Weather On Notice
To the north of South Florida, a weakening frontal boundary is expected to fade later this week, but a passing shortwave could nudge up shower and thunderstorm chances from Saturday night into Sunday. Sunday’s outlook includes stronger northeast winds and a broader swath of rain and storm chances that may tangle with outdoor plans, festival crowds included, so it is wise to keep schedules loose. Forecasters at the local office say rain odds go up late in the weekend, so keep an eye on updates from NWS Miami.
