A late-night return home on Rehnea Drive ended in deadly gunfire, and Wilson County detectives are now asking the public to help identify a vehicle they say may be tied to the Jan. 12 fatal shooting of a woman in Old Hickory.
The Wilson County Sheriff’s Office identified the victim as Margarita Castro and said she was shot while returning to her home in the 600 block of Rehnea Drive. Investigators have described the incident as a targeted attack, and no arrests have been announced.
In a March 2 post on the Wilson County Sheriff’s Office Facebook page, the Criminal Investigations Division released photos of a car and asked anyone with video or information to come forward. Detectives are specifically seeking dash-cam, doorbell, and surveillance footage from the neighborhood and nearby roads that could show the vehicle around the time of the shooting.

Investigators are urging residents and drivers to comb through any dash-cam, doorbell, or commercial surveillance footage that might show a sedan in the area around the time of the shooting. According to the Wilson County Sheriff’s Office, the Detectives’ line and Crime Stoppers tip number are available for leads related to the case.
Local coverage and previous sheriff’s office notices list Detective Sgt. Travis Donnell is the point of contact for similar investigations and shows an email address for tips, per Country Herald. Detectives say even brief clips that happen to catch a passing car could help them pin down movements and timelines.
Shooting described as targeted
Deputies told WSMV4 that the shooting happened around 10 p.m. on Jan. 12 in the 600 block of Rehnea Drive and confirmed the death is being investigated as a homicide. The Lebanon Democrat reported similar details and noted that investigators believe the attack was isolated and intentional.
Authorities have released limited information while detectives continue canvassing the area and reviewing any footage that might show the sedan before or after the shooting.
