Pinecrest Bakery is gearing up to plant its flag in Miami Springs, snapping up a prominent corner at the intersection of Le Jeune Road and NW 36th Street, just a quick hop from Miami International Airport. The family-founded Cuban bakery chain expects to open the new shop next year, bringing pastelitos, croquetas and late-night coffee to a stretch of town that already sees heavy traffic at all hours.
As reported by WhatNow, the chain has listed a Miami Springs location, while the company’s own pages flag the address as “coming soon in 2026.” Pinecrest Bakery traces its roots to a December 2012 storefront in Pinecrest and has since leaned into a largely 24-hour Cuban-American bakery model that keeps neighborhoods caffeinated well past midnight.
Where the shop will be
City planning records point to parcels in the 4601 to 4649 NW 36th Street block within Miami Springs’ NW36 district, placing the planned bakery along that commercial strip, according to a planning packet from the City of Miami Springs. Commercial leasing materials spotlight a vacant former Burger King with a drive-thru at 4201 NW 36th Street, a fully built-out quick-service spot on a signalized corner, per LoopNet.
A bigger footprint across South Florida
The Miami Springs move is the latest step in Pinecrest Bakery’s steady northward march across South Florida. Since opening its first shop in December 2012, Pinecrest Bakery has spread into dozens of Miami-area neighborhoods. Coverage of a recent Lauderhill opening billed it as the chain’s 25th South Florida location and highlighted how the brand blends company-owned stores with franchised spots, per 25th South Florida spot.
What neighbors can expect
Locals can look forward to the standard Pinecrest lineup: pastelitos, croquetas, pressed Cuban sandwiches and strong cafecito, plus the late-night hours that have become a calling card for the brand. WhatNow also notes Pinecrest’s community work with organizations such as Camillus House and the Miami Cancer Institute. For now, the company has not released a firm opening date for Miami Springs beyond the “coming soon” tag on its pages.
