Rockville regulars showed up for coffee at Twinbrook Shopping Center this week and found the lights out instead. Dunkin' has closed its long-running shop at 2006 Veirs Mill Road, pulling the permanent signage and leaving behind an empty storefront plus a taped note on the window.
The printed notice on the door reads, "This Location Has Closed. Thank you for your patronage. We look forward to serving you at our nearby locations," according to The MoCo Show. The outlet also reports that the store's phone line appeared disconnected and that no replacement tenant has been announced.
Dunkin's Online Directory Hasn't Caught Up
Despite the closure notice and the stripped signage, Dunkin's own online directory still lists a page for the Twinbrook address at 2006 Veirs Mill Rd in Rockville. The listing remains live on Dunkin'.
Chain Keeps Growing Elsewhere in MoCo
The shutdown at Twinbrook comes even as the chain continues to grow around Montgomery County. Patch reports a "Next Generation" Dunkin' opened at 17700 Muncaster Road in Derwood on Jan. 9, 2026, and MoCo Show documented a Germantown drive-thru remodel last December.
Twinbrook's Vacancy Problem
Local advocates have long flagged vacant storefronts and the difficulty of replacing longtime anchors at Twinbrook, saying the center needs more service-oriented tenants such as a pharmacy to better serve nearby residents, according to the Twinbrook Community Association. Residents and business owners say gaps in everyday services make the center feel neglected and harm small retailers.
Where Twinbrook Regulars Can Still Get Their Fix
The storefront notice directs customers to two nearby Dunkin' locations at 865 Rockville Pike and 11530 Rockville Pike. Both addresses appear in Dunkin' Rockville directory. Patrons who relied on the Twinbrook shop will need to visit those nearby sites while the Twinbrook space remains vacant; we will monitor leasing activity and local notices for any updates.
