Burger-hungry San Ramon residents just got a new option. Local chain Super Duper Burgers opened its first San Ramon location on Tuesday at 10:30 a.m., taking over a corner unit at the Shops at Bishop Ranch. Regular hours are set for 10:30 AM to 10 PM daily, according to Danville San Ramon.
Edmondo Sarti, co-CEO of Super Duper Burgers, told Danville San Ramon that "we have a long history in San Ramon" and said the company wanted to return to the community it once served. The outlet notes the space previously housed Pasta Pomodoro, which was part of the Back of the House group’s earlier operations in the city.
Menu and sourcing
According to Super Duper Burgers, the menu focuses on daily-ground Brandt Beef patties, free-range chicken sandwiches, an organic veggie burger and an all-day breakfast sandwich. The company says its shakes and cones use Straus Family Creamery milk, and that all packaging is 100% compostable as part of a low-waste approach.
Opening perks and design
WhatNow reports that the San Ramon outpost features a retro-inspired interior and that the first 50 guests on opening day scored free burgers. The outlet also highlights signature sides, including garlic fries and the chain’s house-made pickles, as part of the new location’s lineup.
Where this fits in Super Duper's growth
SFist notes that the San Ramon debut is part of a broader Bay Area expansion: the chain opened its 20th location in Corte Madera earlier this month and has additional spots planned, including on Fillmore Street and in Union Square. The brand, which began in the Castro and emphasizes local suppliers and artisans, has said it plans to keep growth focused inside the Bay Area.
The San Ramon restaurant is located at 146 Sunset Dr Unit A-3 in the Shops at Bishop Ranch, with hours listed as 10:30 AM to 10 PM, according to Danville San Ramon. Locals who missed the opening-day giveaway can now find the chain’s usual spread of burgers, fries and Straus shakes at the new spot.
