
A 21-year-old man was killed and another driver injured in a head-on collision Saturday on N. Charles Seviers Boulevard near Bland Road in Clinton, according to police. The driver of a red Suzuki Vitara, identified as 21-year-old Landon Brooks, was pronounced dead before officers arrived. The other driver was taken to a hospital with injuries, and emergency crews shut down a stretch of Seviers while they worked the scene and began their investigation.
Crash Details
According to WATE 6 On Your Side, investigators say the Suzuki crossed the center median and struck a gray Chevy Silverado on the eastbound side of the road. The station reports Brooks died before officers got there and that the Silverado’s driver is receiving medical treatment.
Investigation Underway
The Clinton Police Department's Fatal Accident Reconstruction Team responded to the scene and is leading the investigation, police told WATE 6 On Your Side. In a statement, the department asked residents to keep everyone involved and their families in their thoughts and prayers during what they called a difficult time for the community.
Seviers Boulevard Has Seen Serious Crashes Before
This stretch of N. Charles Seviers Boulevard has been the site of other fatal collisions in recent years, drawing renewed attention to safety on the corridor. Local coverage of a May 2024 Clinton fatal crash details a separate wreck that left a Clinton woman dead.
