What started as a late Monday morning call to a home off Stanley Creek Road in Oneida ended with state agents combing through a Scott County crime scene. Deputies found a man inside the residence with a gunshot wound just before 11 a.m., and he was rushed to a nearby hospital, where he was later pronounced dead. Authorities have not yet released his name, saying they are waiting to notify his family. By Monday evening, the scene was still active as investigators collected evidence and interviewed witnesses.
How The Call Came In
According to WATE, Scott County deputies were dispatched to the home off Stanley Creek Road just before 11 a.m. on a report of a shooting. When officers went inside, they found a man suffering from a gunshot wound. Emergency crews transported him to an area hospital, where he later died. As reported by WATE’s Gregory Raucoules, officials are withholding the victim’s identity until next of kin are notified.
