Andytown Coffee Roasters is planting a flag deep in downtown San Francisco, taking over the former Starbucks space at 66 Kearny Street for a full-size cafe. The roughly 2,200-square-foot shop will be open to the public, with a tucked-away employee-only nook built in for a nearby office tower. Owners say the move will bring Andytown’s signature coffee and daily-baked goods right into the heart of the Financial District.

According to WhatNow, Andytown announced the lease in an Instagram post, and co-founder Lauren Crabbe told the outlet the team is aiming for a spring 2026 opening. The report notes that the Kearny Street location sits adjacent to 88 Kearny, future home of LendingClub’s headquarters, and that part of the cafe will function as an employee-only nook for that office building.

Menu, Roots and Scale

Andytown grew out of a tiny Lawton Street shop and has expanded steadily since its 2014 founding, according to Andytown. The menu centers on specialty coffee and a bakery program inspired by Northern Ireland, with soda farls, wheaten bread, scones and breakfast sandwiches baked daily and delivered fresh to each cafe.

Next to LendingClub’s New Headquarters

The Kearny site sits beside 88 Kearny, a tower LendingClub agreed to acquire as its new headquarters in 2025, as reported by the San Francisco Chronicle. The outlet notes LendingClub plans to occupy roughly 100,000 square feet starting in spring 2026, which helps explain why Andytown is betting on a larger cafe footprint on that block.

What It Means for Downtown

The 66 Kearny opening will be Andytown’s tenth location overall and its fourth downtown San Francisco outpost, WhatNow reports. The move adds another locally rooted option to the Financial District’s coffee mix as employers and office amenities slowly refill the neighborhood.

Andytown has not posted a firm public opening date on its site yet, and final buildout timing remains subject to permitting and construction schedules. For openings and staffing updates, see Andytown and the company’s social channels.
