A Thursday house fire on Troy Drive in Lewisburg left two people dead and sent two others to the hospital, according to local officials. Neighbors pulled at least one person out through a window before firefighters arrived, while another occupant made it out on their own. Fire crews and investigators stayed at the scene for hours as authorities worked to figure out how the blaze started.
In a press release from the City of Lewisburg Fire Department, credited to Scott Braden, officials said the fire broke out at 1407 Troy Drive and that four people were inside when crews got there. Two of those occupants died, and two were taken for treatment of smoke inhalation. The release listed responding agencies as the Lewisburg Police Department, Lewisburg Fire Department, Marshall County EMS, and Marshall County OEM.
Neighbors And First Response
The department’s post states that a neighbor “rescued a second occupant through a window prior to arrival of emergency personnel” and that one person inside the home self-evacuated. “The names of the victims are being withheld at this time,” the post added via the City of Lewisburg Fire Department.

Investigators with the Lewisburg Police Department and the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation are assisting and will continue to review the circumstances surrounding the fire. Officials said the cause of the blaze remains under investigation.
