Early Sunday on San Antonio's Northwest Side, a confrontation outside a home turned into a burst of gunfire that left two people fighting for their lives and a suspected shooter on the run, according to police.
What Police Say
San Antonio police say it started with an altercation between a man inside a home and two people outside in the 5900 block of White Cloud near Callaghan Road. At some point during that dispute, shots were fired, striking both victims.
Officers with the San Antonio Police Department, along with the San Antonio Fire Department, EMS crews and crime scene investigators, flooded the block to secure the area and treat the wounded. Those details were reported by KENS 5.
Victims and Investigation
Both victims were rushed to a hospital, where officials say they remain in critical condition. Authorities have not released their names and have not said whether there was any prior relationship between the suspect and the victims as detectives work to sort out what led up to the shooting.
Callaghan Road and the Northwest Side
The Callaghan Road corridor and the broader Northwest Side have seen several violent incidents in recent months. In September 2025 two men were killed outside the Casa Del Sol apartments, according to the San Antonio Express-News.
As of Sunday, no arrests had been announced and the suspected gunman remained at large, police said, as reported by KENS 5. The investigation is ongoing as detectives piece together the confrontation that left two people critically wounded on White Cloud.
