In a social media post, the New Hampshire State Fire Marshal's Office said members were responding to a residential fire on Burns Hill Road and initially reported two people with serious injuries. State Marshals Lead Origin-And-Cause Probe
Investigators from the State Fire Marshal's Office are leading the origin-and-cause investigation at the scene, according to the agency’s social post. Authorities reiterated that the fire does not appear suspicious and that they are examining whether a local power outage may have played a role.
Wilton police said in a Facebook post that Burns Hill Road near School Drive was temporarily closed while crews worked the scene; the roadway later reopened but remained down to one lane, and the closure briefly snarled morning traffic in the small town while emergency vehicles operated on the road.
